Von Rosenthal de la Vegaz resident DJ
“Klassieke muziek is voor iedereen”, zo vindt de organisatie van Festival Classique. Om het ook echt voor iedereen te maken, is er echter wel een vernieuwingsslag nodig. Met verrassende concepten geeft het festival al vijf jaar een luchtiger tintje aan de klassieke muziekbeleving . Zo nu ook met de resident DJ, Von Rosenthal de la Vegaz. Sinds 2009 draait de van oorsprong op electro georiënteerde DJ alleen nog klassieke muziek, zonder beats.
DJ Von Rosenthal de la Vegaz mixt achter de draaitafels van het festival een drietal sets met klassieke muziek: dinsdag 14 juni sluit hij de avond in de SuperMarkt , ‘Klassiek in de Kroeg’, af en zaterdag 18 juni draait hij tot in de late uurtjes op het Plein ; het hart van het festival. Zijn eerste optreden vindt voorafgaand aan het festival tijdens het Huismerk plaats,. Dit betaalbare eigen merk van Festival Classique opent in 330Live, een Haagse locatie 330 cm onder de grond, waar live optredens centraal staan. Na een hoogstaand klassiek concert, komt Von Rosenthal de la Vegaz met een avontuurlijke klassieke DJ set die de gasten van deze afterparty zal verrassen. Hij wordt hierin visueel bijgestaan door VJ Aineko.
Von Rosenthal maakt de laatste tijd naam door als DJ alleen klassieke muziek – zonder beats – te draaien in clubs en voorprogramma’s van pop/rockbands als Vive la Fête en The Bloody Beetroots. Op Lowlands 2010 was hij een van de grote ontdekkingen. VJ Aineko komt uit de clubscene waar ze in de line up van eclectische feesten staat en bracht eerder met haar visuals de 5e van Beethoven in Paradiso tot een absoluut hoogtepunt.
DJ Von Rosenthal de la Vegaz heeft al vele muzikale wegen bewandeld. Hij genoot een opleiding elektronische muziek aan het Haagse Conservatorium, speelde saxofoon in verschillende bandjes en trad als electro DJ op in grote clubs. Nu, met zijn klassieke sets vol mash-ups van Stravinsky tot Bach, sluit hij naadloos aan bij de line-up van Festival Classique.

Von Rosenthal de la Vegaz resident DJ
DJ Von Rosenthal de la Vegaz and Festival Classique will commence a special collaboration for the lustrum year of the festival. The DJ – known for i.e. his performances at Lowlands, Motel Mozaique and in famous clubs as Paradiso (Amsterdam) – will have the honor to be the first resident DJ of Festival Classique. Both Festival Classique as Von Rosenthal want to give the classical music experience a new boost.
“Classical music is for everyone”, so says the organization of Festival Classique. To really make this style of music accessible to everyone though, there needs to be a renewal of the current presentation. The festival enlightens the classical music experience since five years now by creating surprising concepts. Like now, with resident DJ, Von Rosenthal de la Vegaz. Since 2009 the originally electro orientated DJ, only plays classical music, without beats.
DJ Von Rosenthal de la Vegaz mixes three sets of classical music behind the desks of the festival: Tuesday 14th of June he closes the evening – ‘Klassiek in de Kroeg’ – in the SuperMarkt Saturday 18th of June he spins until the early hours on the Plein; the hart of the festival. His first performance is prior to the festival during the Huismerk. This affordable privat lable of Festival Classique opens in 330Live, a The Hague location 330 cm below surface, where live performances are to be seen. After a high quality classical concert, Von Rosenthal de la Vegaz steps in with an adventurous classical DJ set that will blow away the guests at the after party. In his set he is accompanies by the lovely VJ Aineko.
Von Rosenthal makes name by DJing classical music only – no beats – in clubs and pre-shows of pop/rock bands as Vive la Fête and The Bloody Beetroots. At Lowlands 2010 he was one of the great discoveries. VJ Aineko has set foot in the club scene where she is seen in many line ups of eclectic parties. In Paradiso she brought the 5th of Beethoven to a whole new level with her amazing visuals.
DJ Von Rosenthal de la Vegaz has walked the paths of several musical ways. He studied electronical music at the Royal Hague Conservatory, played the sax in different bands and performed in well known clubs as an electro DJ. Now, with his classical music set full of mash-ups from Stravinsky to Bach, he fits perfectly in the Festival Classique line-up.
